Did you know I also photograph birthday parties and other events? This was a sweet little boy’s birthday party from a few months ago. They had the party at his house, rented a super cool bounce house, and invited friends and family over to celebrate. I loved that as I got to know the guests there, I learned that they were all family, and this was a very special occasion for them to get together. Whenever I do family events, I try to plan with my clients for some time for family portraits before the event starts. Sometimes, these are the only times that the whole family can get together, so it’s important to have those portraits to look back on in future years. Then, I make sure to grab the details of the party. This sweet boy loved Paw Patrol, so all of the decorations were bright and colorful. For the remainder of the event, I walk around and capture the candids – the kids playing in the bounce house and inside the home, birthday boy trying on his Paw Patrol mask, dad playing in the bounce house with them, and of course blowing out the birthday candles! I have so much fun celebrating with my clients, and they don’t have to worry about taking pictures the entire time and can instead focus on playing with the kids and catching up with friends and family.
