Family pictures taken lakeside can be a beautiful change of scenery when you update your family pictures.
The lake in Flower Mound is a beautiful location for family pictures, especially during the Fall season. The grass is tall, sun is out, and temperatures are usually pretty good. This is Murrell Park, one of my favorite locations to shoot family, maternity, and senior sessions. It is easy to access and free. There are lots of different locations here that can work beautifully, even without having the lake in your pictures. There are a number of fields we can access, with beautiful tall trees in the background. There are also gravel roads that aren’t often used, including a concrete path that is blocked off to cars so it’s very safe for children. And of course the lake itself, with its rocky shores and beautiful sunsets, has a number of great spots.
This sweet family met with me for the second time this year, first to celebrate their little boy’s first birthday, and then to capture them all together for fall pictures. I love the colors they dressed in for our session. They all looked comfortable, and that red top really pops against the background and makes them stand out so nicely.
One of the benefits of booking a longer session instead of a short mini session, is that you can wander around and find different spots within the same location. It also gives the kids a chance to relax and get to know me, so I can capture their true expressions and get their giggles and laughter as they play or explore. These kids had fun exploring the paths and getting near the water. You could even bring a change of clothes for the kids and capture them playing at the edge of the water near the end of the session. It can be so fun, and gives them a great memory from their session!
